One day I'll finish designing my remote spider robots, probably shortly after such things become mainstrea anyway

Yikes (edited)
I mean the standalone client, as opposed to accessing Discord within a web browser
Avatar
BrightBlaze 26-Mar-20 05:03 PM
problem is even with the standalone client there are still issues due to like 50 tabs trying ta load at once XD

But anyway, dreamweavers? >m<
Avatar
BrightBlaze 26-Mar-20 05:05 PM
yeah ya wanted ta ask more about the specific sect? Or did ya want ta brief ous on other dreamweavers?

I don't have any more information to give crying_safir (edited)
So I guess the former

A just figured that as for the belief side of things in the weftdancers it was basically just their own conclusions based on the evidence they had acquired over the years

Yeah
Just now I'm imagining that, as huge as the dreamweaver empress is, it would take her a long-ass time to lay each egg sac, and as such a caste of lower psiders might evolve to feed and water her while she's in an egglay trance
Avatar
BrightBlaze 26-Mar-20 05:11 PM
those who dove deepest learned more and as such their position within the ranks changed, to the point where they view those who go deepest as akin to the weaver themselves

(and around the clock after she becomes woven into the Mesmer)

Avatar
BrightBlaze 26-Mar-20 05:13 PM
it's uncertin which canme first ta them the weaver or the weave as they view time itself as less linear as they just see it as another pattern
Avatar
Vāstra II 26-Mar-20 05:13 PM
Interesting
also contemplates whether the dreamweaver empress is a single outsized example of the overqueen species or whether there are others like her.
Avatar
BrightBlaze 26-Mar-20 05:15 PM
both are interesting possibilities

Vāstra II 26-Mar-20 05:16 PM
smile_safir
Given the size of her egg sacs, weaving the webs that will contain them could be a species-wide undertaking, especially after she becomes entrapped

BrightBlaze 26-Mar-20 05:16 PM
yups

Vāstra II 26-Mar-20 05:16 PM
enough so to factor into their timekeeping system (todo: try and think of one that's not linear lol)
Avatar
BrightBlaze 26-Mar-20 05:20 PM
why would it be linear? Time is part of the great weave, and each point on a web is linked to every other ^-^

Because all the timekeeping systems that I know of (and thus all the ones that I can think of) are linear ;'.'
Avatar
BrightBlaze 26-Mar-20 05:23 PM
you could use the web metaphor
the moment a strand is plucked
it would make a plausible explanation for linear actions while holding the possibility of summat else
so first strand, second strand etc. would be akin to hours
Avatar
Vāstra II 26-Mar-20 05:29 PM
It still seems linear to me, though? because one timestamp will always come before another and after a third
Pseudorelatedly I do think dreamweavers, at least when dream-speaking, would use a weird-ass number system like phinary or quater-imaginary

At last, my latest school project : "The Microcosmos". We had to pick an insect (or arachnid !), do the modeling and the texturing, and then put it in its environment. I chose to do a psychic spider, staring at her crystal ball on a very "magic-like" branch with glowing mushr...

In the forests of South Africa lurks an arachnophobe’s nightmare – Nephila kowaci, the largest web-spinning spider in the world. The females of this newly discovered species have bodies that are 3-4 centimetres in length (1.5 inches) and legs that are each around 7.5cm long (3 inches).
